Teams from San Diego State University, San Diego City College, and Southwestern Community College compete against each other in exams that include Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and some Engineering material. Each school will also have 1-2 teams who will program its robot to compete in two heats. Sign up sheets are usually on hand at each MESA centers’ respective offices prior to Spring Break.

The 7th annual Leadership Summit took place at the Indian Hills Camp in Jamul on the weekend of February 15, 2008. Students from San Diego City College, San Diego State University, Southwestern College, and Ventura College participated in various competitions that promoted the use of their leadership skills and various strengths attributes.
