Introduction:

Unfortunately, on a yearly basis, there are a number of companies and organizations that have donated moneys for scholarship use to Under Represented student applicants; however, a great deal of the money is being returned because of a lack of applicant interest. In summary, students are not applying for many scholarship opportunities, and therefore, available college funds are either underutilized or not used at all. BOC is a nationally recognized training and certification program for building operators. The full-day classes meet monthly and focus on a variety of energy-efficiency topics.

SciMentorNet
A student mentoring program was recently launched by the Office of Science Education of the National Institutes of Health. This web-based program, called SciMentorNet, links pre-screened mentors (scientists, health-care workers, clinicians) with high school and college students who are interested in exploring a career in biomedical research, health-care or medicine.
