This event is supported by the National Science Foundation/Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) and is designed to increase the number of underrepresented minorities our in Ph.D. programs in engineering and computer science. The Graduate School Preview Day will provide scholars with a broader understanding of the opportunities available through a graduate education in engineering at UC Santa Barbara; the agenda will include application and funding workshops, facilities tours, graduate student panels and significant interaction with UC Santa Barbara faculty and researchers from different engineering research areas.
Funding for travel expenses is available. We can fund air or ground transportation and accommodation for the night prior to the event, Thursday, September 16th. Breakfast and lunch on Friday will be provided. However, space is limited so we should receive applications no later than August 27, 2010 for consideration.
