Corporate Communications Internship (unpaid) Jack in the Box is looking for interns to join the Corporate Communications department. In this internship you will have the opportunity to gain experience in writing and editing news articles for both internal and external audiences. You will be responsible for conducting interviews and writing engaging stories about company initiatives, events, products and human interest. This internship opportunity may also have you draft press releases and respond to media inquiries, assist with investor conference calls and annual shareholders meetings, and work with the video crew to create news stories for employees. You will also gain exposure to the various functions of a corporate communications department in addition to learning how to produce events that engage employees in the brand and mission of the company.
The preferred areas of education are Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or comparable degree.
Video Communications Internship (unpaid) This internship will familiarize you with the day‐to‐day operations of an internal video communications department and have the opportunity to perform a variety of production tasks including obtaining hands‐on experience in camera operations, audio production, and video editing. You will also perform many of the same tasks as the department staff such as setting up for productions and attending production meetings. In the internship, you will be responsible for projects during all phases of production, which includes set up of equipment and observation and work on non‐linear editing system with supervision. You will also have the opportunity to observe and perform audio engineering duties.
The preferred areas of education are Television, Film, New Media Production, Communication or comparable degree.
PSQE Internship (unpaid)(Product Safety Quality Excellence) In this role you will partner with analysts in documenting technical issues and authoring documents in our knowledge base. You will participate in different aspects of product evaluation, including physical analysis, cook and hold tests and packaging evaluations. You will perform aseptic collection of microbiological samples and create report for product managers, microbiologists and QA coordinator by compiling, recording and calculating data as well as assist in chemical testing and in receiving and storage of arriving samples of food items.
The preferred majors of study are Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry or comparable degree.
I.T. Innovation Internship (unpaid)
Jack’s Innovation Team is looking for an intern to join the team and work with with IT and Marketing innovation on
ideation. In this role you will provide recommendations and ideas on various projects. You will test new
implementations and provide feedback regarding improvements and areas for growth. This is a unique role in that it will
help as Jack in the Box achieves its mission statement.
The preferred majors of study are Marketing and IT. We are seeking an individual full of ideas and willingness to share
them.
Research and Development Kitchen Tech Internship
(unpaid)
Jack in the Box’s corporate headquarters is looking for an intern to work in our Research & Development Kitchen. This
internship will allow you to gain knowledge in product evaluation, execution of sensory panels, and Excel data
analysis. In the internship, you will support product evaluation by assisting kitchen staff with execution of product
showings and sensory panels. You will perform physical analysis, cook studies, hold studies and yield studies.
The preferred majors of study are Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry or comparable degree.
IT Technical Services (unpaid)
Jack in the Box has an opportunity for an intern in our IT Technical Services group assisting with networking, PC’s,
Laptops, Active Directory, and much more. As an intern you will have the opportunity to participate in software and
hardware installation, configuration, hardware setup, and hardware and software troubleshooting in an enterprise
corporate setting.
The preferred areas of education include Computer Science, Networking, Technology Management, or similar focus.
Architecture Internship ($10/hr)
We are seeking am student to work in our Architecture department in reviewing and archiving electronic drawings and
other files. This internship will familiarize the student with how architectural drawings are organized, developed,
coordinated and read as well as how the development process works here at Jack in the Box. They will also gain an
understanding of how the company operates generally.
The ideal student will be pursuing a degree in Architecture or Construction and must be very detail oriented.
This intern position has flexible hours.
Business Intelligence Internship ($15/hr)
We are seeking an MBA‐level student who is currently enrolled and is majoring in Management Science, Economics,
Finance, Business, or Mathematics. This individual must be driven and seeking to learn and grow in the area of business
intelligence. In this internship you will have the opportunity to provide analytical support to the business and
intelligence team including data validation. Activities could include: spreadsheet analysis creation and review, data
collection and entry, project research, spreadsheet audit, process documentation, and other special projects as
determined.
The ideal student will have intermediate Excel and some knowledge of Access and SQL.
This intern position has flexible hours.
