This program offers graduate students who are interested in doctoral programs the opportunity to explore doctoral study with a cash award of $2000 to the student and $1000 to the faculty mentor.The money can be used for travel expenses to prospective universities, applications to prospective universities, conferences, attending seminars, subscriptions to publications etc. You will also be given a free GRE prep test. Students who receive this award are given the opportunity to participate in one of University of California’s summer research internship programs during the summer of 2010. Funding for the summer research internship covers 8-10 week period generally beginning sometime in June and ending in August. The award amount is agreed upon between the institution and the Pre-Doctoral Program Office. Funding generally covers housing, meals, transportation, and program participation costs that are deemed reasonable for the institution. A separate stipend is also awarded to the scholar, dependent upon available budget All details of this scholarship program can be found on www.CalState.edu/predoc.
