2010-2011 Fall & Spring Science Instructor

The Elementary Institute of Science (EIS) is a non-profit, child-centered organization that provides innovative science enrichment for children through hands-on experiences. Instructors have guided students in activities such as programming robots, water-quality testing, fish dissections, growing plants, building design, creating parachutes, making rockets, computer programming, web designing. Classes are held in our 15,000-square-foot science and technology learning center.

Program dates:
October 11, 2010 to May 21, 2011

Several schedules are available:
Monday & Wednesday, 3:15-6:15pm
Tuesday & Thursday, 3:15-6:15pm
Saturday, 9:00am-2:00pm
Saturday, 9:30am-2:30pm

An EIS Instructor:
o Has knowledge of / background in subject to be taught. Junior, senior, or graduate students preferred.
o Teaches one of the following labs:
1. Astronomy 6. Geology
2. Biology 7. Health
3. Chemistry 8. Natural science
4. Computer science 9. Photography
5. Engineering or electronics 10. Other
o Creates and implements hands-on activities for students ages 7-13
o Enjoys working with children
o Earns $11 per hour
