WTS San Diego is pleased to announce a scholarship and professional development opportunity for graduate and undergraduate women pursuing an education and career in a field related to transportation.
WHO? Any woman who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to transportation, including but not limited to:
Engineering
Urban, City or Regional Planning
Construction Management
Public Administration or Public Finance
Public Policy or Public Affairs
Geography
Environmental Studies
WHAT? WTS will award two scholarships of at least $2,000 each for one graduate and one undergraduate student. Additionally, winners will receive:
A 1 year membership to WTS – valued at $60
A professional mentor through WTS’s Transportation Leaders of Tomorrow mentorship program
Recognition at WTS San Diego’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Prado in Balboa Park in September 2010
A chance to win an additional $3,000 in the WTS International scholarship competition
WHEN? COMPLETE APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY BY MAY 6, 2011 TO ANTOINETTE MEIER AT WTSSDScholarship@gmail.com
HOW? It’s easy – we know you are busy so we’ve made the application process simple!
Complete the attached application (one for graduate students and one for undergraduate students)
Include a copy of your transcript (an online transcript is sufficient)
Have a professor or job supervisor submit a letter of recommendation to Antoinette Meier at WTSSDScholarship@gmail.com. Please ask your professor or job supervisor to include your name and “WTS Scholarship Recommendation” in the e-mail subject line.
Include a personal statement of 500 words or less (undergraduate) or 750 words or less (graduate).
Include proof of enrollment (tuition receipt or current registration card).
