IEEE Power and Energy Society 2012 Conference (Need Volunteers)

This summer San Diego will be the host city for the IEEE Power and Energy Society 2012 General Meeting and Conference. Attendance is expected to be close to 3,000 attendees, and San Diego Gas & Electric is proud to be a platinum sponsor, and the host utility.

The conference will take place from July 22-26 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego. There will be many educational sessions and workshops, as well as many activities off site that showcase San Diego as America’s Finest City!

Volunteers make up an essential part of this conference. We have many employees from SDG&E volunteering to help out this conference, but are still in need of more to help ensure that the convention attendees have a successful experience.

We need volunteers in many areas – everything from helping out at registrations desks, assisting in our social activities, and acting as human arrows to direct convention goers to their destination.

Shifts are available for half days, or whole days, and in exchange for each day of volunteering, each volunteer will receive a one day pass to the conference.

Volunteer shifts are available both during the day and the evening, with time slots being available from 6am – 10pm.

Below,  a link below that will take you to the volunteer website where there are descriptions of the activities where we need volunteers, as well as time frames. There is also an area to sign up on line as a volunteer, and the ability to request a particular activity, or time frame.

In addition to having fun, they will have the opportunity to attend a premier educational conference and sit in on some very dynamic workshops.
