$5,000 SDG&E Mentorship

San Diego Gas & Electric is offering a very unique paid mentorship for the fall semester for 3 outstanding engineering students.

Here are the details:

The SDGE-SDSU Mentorship Program will provide participants with real world engineering experience focusing on concepts in the contemporary utility industry. Students will NOT have a weekly commitment or be expected to be at Sempra or SDGE on any regular basis. Only if they choose a few special tours which will be pre-arranged.

A few group luncheons and monthly check-in with their mentor, approximately for an hour, is the maximum time expectation.

  • Student must be enrolled at SDSU in good standing and pursuing a major in the College of Engineering
  • Student must be upper division undergraduate (60 units or more) with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
  • Civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering majors will be given preference
  • Student must be enrolled in a 3-unit special study course through the College of Engineering during the fall semester
  • Student will receive $5,000

If you are interested, please send me your resume and a SHORT (no more than one page) essay detailing your interest in the utility industry no later than this Friday, August 10th.
