Science Teachers – Please share this important information with the 7th & 8th grade

girls in your science classes.

 
Please take a minute to read the Letter for Teachers –  especially if you are not familiar with the program.  It will help you to better understand BE WiSE so you can help a few girls in each of your classes, especially those for whom this will be a “special opportunity,” to apply.  We accept a total of 120 students from schools all over the county, so only a limited number of girls are accepted from each school.

This is the 14th year of the BE WiSE Program.

There is a color poster on the BE WiSE web page, which you can print to share with the students.

Please encourage your students to visit the BE WiSE web page to learn about the application requirements for the program, including:

• information they can share with their parents (Letter for Parents)
• essay requirements – click on link entitled  One-Page Essay Question
• the electronic application form – completed online

*Please remind students to include their name, address, email, school etc. on the essay page as well as on the application form.  Students will submit their application electronically.  The essay is uploaded to this online application form.
We also ask you, the science teacher, to send a letter (or email) of recommendation for the student(s) who will apply.  Letter of Recommendation should be sent via email to bewise@sdsa.org.  If you cannot send via email you may send via US Mail attention SDSA BEWiSE Overnight to 5694 Mission Center Road #285, San Diego, CA  92108.
