Skip’s Tips – Advanced Solar Thermal Workshop

This workshop will focus on combination systems.  We’ll look at combined water heating and space heating applications which can be simple or very complex. We will discuss system design factors including collector and storage sizing and overheat prevention.  We’ll examine results from monitoring and evaluation of combisystems in Europe and discuss if they are appropriate for the U.S. and San Diego.

Guest speakers will be engineer Hal Brody and architect John Gillies, who will describe their (existing and planned) combisystems.

This Skip’s Tips is for general and advanced audience levels.

PLEASE NOTE:  This event will be held at the Energy Innovation Center.

Skip Fralick, has over 30 years of experience in the Solar Thermal industry, and is currently the Solar Water Heating Energy Engineer at CCSE. He has participated in numerous technical committees and trained contractors.  He is also a LEED Accredited Professional, an AEE Certified Energy Manager, and a BPI Professional.

Skip’s passion is Solar Thermal, so if you have technical questions about this technology, come to CCSE for an informal chat with Skip and other industry stakeholders.

**Please note that this an advanced workshop intended for people with experience in Solar Thermal. If you are interested in basic Solar Thermal information, please attend the “Solar Water Basics for Homeowners” workshop at www.energycenter.org/calendar.
