This is especially for the ladies:
The annual, nation-wide but regionally-based, girls’ science and engineering conference “Expanding Your Horizons” needs 120 female mentors!!!! This is a wonderful conference for girls 6-10th grades from across southern California. Mentors need to spend a whole day (Saturday 12 April) at the University of San Diego (USD). If this is impossible you may also volunteer in shifts instead of as a mentor.
The workshops offered during the day are usually fantastic, with a hands-on approach to science and engineering. But in particular it means a lot to the girls to have awesome mentors not much older than they are to look up to.
