The Title III PhD. Fellowship Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking applications from students interested in pursuing a doctoral degree in engineering. The purpose of the fellowship is to increase the number of native Black Americans earning a Ph.D. degree in engineering, and provides fellowships to students of superior academic ability who are selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and exceptional promise to undertake study at the doctoral level in engineering. The fellowship consists of a stipend of $30,000 per year (12 months), tuition, fees, and health insurance, and is renewable for up to 3 years, contingent upon the student’s academic progress and the availability of funds.
Title III PhD Fellowship applicant eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Must be native Black American
- Must have an earned M.S. degree
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
- Must contractually agree to fellowship guidelines and conditions
