Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) in Germany

RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate student from the United States, Canada and the UK in the biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering.

RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor degree seeking students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of two to three months during the summer.

RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English.

AWARD STIPEND/BENEFITS:

All scholarship holders receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities and research institutes provide housing assistance.

ELIGIBILITY:

Must be working toward a B.S. Degree in biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering.

Students who are in their second or third year (also 4th year students who are DAAD alumni) may apply.

Foreign nationals may be eligible to apply if they have been full-time students at an American or Canadian university for at least one year at the time of application.

Financial need is not a requirement.

Applicants must be enrolled, full-time students at SDSU and must return to a US or Canada university after the scholarship period to complete their bachelor’s degree
