April is National Financial Literacy Month!
Help Executive Champion Scott Drury, SDG&E’s vice president for HR, Diversity & Inclusion, raise awareness and funds to support Junior Achievement and invest in San Diego’s future leaders.
The funds raised will help Junior Achievement of San Diego accomplish their goal of reaching 50,000 San Diego students this year through its financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs.
The goal this year is to raise a total of $25,000 for Junior Achievement of San Diego. There are numerous ways that you can help! Here’s how:

If you are (or know of an) Sempra Energy/SDG&E employee – their donations made to Junior Achievement throughout 2014 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $10,000.
Participate in the Junior Achievement Casino Night
Roll the dice and join us for an evening full of music and fun while supporting a good cause!
When: Friday, April 25, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Junior Achievement BizTown
(4756 Mission Gorge Place, San Diego, CA 92120)
Your registration fee includes casino games, music, dinner, three drink tickets, and an opportunity to win the following prizes at the event: an Amazon Kindle, Manchester Grand Hyatt overnight stay with bay view, University Club enrollment, San Diego Safari Park tickets for four, Sycuan Resort and Casino overnight stay round of golf and dinner for 2, SeaWorld tickets for four and more!!
In order to participate, you must perform the following steps:
| Step 1: | Make a minimum donation of $40 to Junior Achievement through payroll deduction (see Contribute through payroll deduction above). |
| Step 2: | Register for the Junior Achievement Casino Night. |

Participate in the annual Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon
Create a team of family, friends and/or coworkers (5 members maximum per team), or join a team and participate in the Bowl-A-Thon!
When: Saturday, April 26
Session 1: noon to 2 p.m.
Session 2: 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Mira Mesa Lanes
(8210 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92126)
Registration includes two hours of bowling, bowling shoes, a t-shirt (while supplies last), pizza and soft drinks! In order to participate, you must perform the following steps:
| Step 1: | Make a minimum donation of $25 to Junior Achievement through payroll deduction (see Contribute through payroll deduction above). |
| Step 2: | Register for one of the following bowling sessions:Session 1: noon – 2:00 p.m. Session 2: 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. |
| Step 3: | If you have your own team of bowlers (5 maximum), provide Ahmed Abbas with a list of your team members at aabbas@sempra.com. |
