Interdisciplinary REU Program in the Structure and Function of Proteins at the University of Michigan The Interdisciplinary REU program will provide undergraduate students with a 10-week summer research experience in the areas of biochemistry, biophysics, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, enzymology, marine biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences and plant biology. The research projects featured in this program all involve studies of the structure and function of proteins.

The Biophysical Society Summer Course in Biophysics, which the Society is again offering in 2010. Applicant Eligibility: Open to minority & Canadian aboriginal junior and senior undergraduate students involved in the areas of quantitative sciences. Two semesters of calculus level physics and 3.0 or greater GPA in science courses are required. Includes: Three course credits, stipend, lab experience, career counseling, and more.

AMGEN SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Caltech’s Amgen Scholars Program is geared towards students in biology, chemistry, and biotechnology fields. Some of these fields include biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and chemistry.

WTS San Diego 2009 scholarship opportunity for graduate and undergraduate women pursuing a career in the field of transportation. WTS will award four scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for two graduate and two undergraduate students. The winners will be automatically entered in the WTS national scholarship competition, where they could win an additional $3,000 scholarship.

The San Diego Chapter of ACEC California is once again partnering with the City of San Diego Engineering and Capital Projects Department to sponsor scholarships to benefit local engineering students at the high school and college levels.

We are pleased to announce that Hispanic Scholarship Fund applications for the 2010-2011 academic year are now available online. HSF gives out over 4,000 scholarships each year to Latino students, and we want to encourage you to reach to students to share these great opportunities!
