2010 University of Virginia Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP)
Ten week summer research internships are available for qualified
undergraduates considering a career in biomedical research. We
provide a generous stipend, round-trip travel, and housing to those
accepted. Supported by peer-reviewed NIH grants and other extramural
organizations, SRIP exposes a diverse group of students to current
biomedical research. SRIP alumni have had great success at starting
their research careers and many have enrolled in our graduate
programs at UVA. Free GRE prep course offered!

2010 UW Amgen Scholars Program
The University of Washington (UW) is pleased to announce the 2010
Amgen Scholars Summer Research Program in Science and Biotechnology.
This national program provides undergraduate participants with
premiere research experiences with UW faculty mentors, while
receiving a generous stipend, housing, meal plan, and transportation
to and from the UW campus.
The Amgen Scholars U.S. Program provides hundreds of selected
undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on
research experience at some of the nation’s leading educational
institutions.

A Federal Internship through The Washington Center
Interested in interning within a federal agency this summer for 10
weeks in Washington, DC? Placements include Department of Defense,
the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Commerce, the
Department of Treasury, and the Internal Revenue Service. The
majority of positions seek students studying science, technology,
engineering, mathematics, and business. Significant financial
assistance is provided to interns selected for this competitive
program.

Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Reseach Program (LSSURP)
The University of Minnesota LSSURP oversees and coordinates six life
sciences programs. After a joint orientation weekend (June 3-6,
2010), students participate in a 10-week research project under the
direction of a faculty mentor, and numerous special activities
focused on professional development as well as social interaction.

Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS)
The Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS) is a
six-week program that exposes undergraduate and beginning graduate
students to the field of biostatistics. Participants enjoy
instruction and lectures by recognized experts in the field; meet
practicing biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and statistical
geneticists; and gain experience working with data from
internationally recognized studies. The program covers tuition,
housing, and meals, and participants will earn college credit.

The American Chemical Society Scholars Program
The American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program is now accepting
applications from African-American, Hispanic/Latino and American

The University of Maryland Summer Research Initiative (SRI)
The Summer Research Initiative (SRI) was created in 1999 by the
Office of the Dean in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences

economic sciences immediately following the completion of the
Bachelors degree.
