Pazzaz volunteerism

Pazzaz is a nonprofit 501c(3) that provides tutoring, homework assistance and enrichment programs, year round, to low income at-risk youth grades 1-12. With 16 years of experience we have been able to improve the future life-prospects of youth through our Total Child Model which stipulates that a child’s success is dependent on the continuous, intense interaction of highest quality innovative academic, personal and emotional development programs aimed at family support and stability.

Currently, we have four sites (approximately 100 kids), with three of those being located in low income apartment complexes (Spring Valley Apartments, Sea Breeze Apartments and Parkside Apartments) with a planned expansion to include an onsite program at local elementary and middle schools. Our program hours are Monday through Friday 3:45-6:45pm and most of our enrichment programs (i.e. Chess, etc.) take place on Fridays.

We are interested in having MESA students volunteer with Pazzaz in the following capacity:

• Tutoring and Homework Assistance
• Facilitate our Robotics program or assist in some capacity
• College Tour
