The San Diego Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is offering scholarships to community college, undergraduate, and graduate women in San Diego County who are in pursuit of a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Each recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship award as well as a complimentary one-year AWIS membership. Recipients will be honored at the 2009 Women in Science and Technology (WIST) conference on May 9th.

Who can apply?
Female students actively pursuing a degree in science, technology,
engineering or mathematics in the 2008-2009 academic year may apply.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a United States
citizen or permanent resident. Applicants must be affiliated with an
institute of higher learning in San Diego County to be eligible.
