2015 MESA Leadership Summit Application

The 14th Annual MESA Leadership Summit, sponsored by Atkins, will take place at the Indian Hills Camp in Jamul on the weekend of February 27 – March 1, 2015 (Friday-Sunday).

MESA students from San Diego State University, San Diego City College, Southwestern College, and high schools in the MESA Schools Program (San Diego and Imperial Valley) will participate in various seminars and competitions that will promote the use of their leadership skills and various strengths attributes.

Your completion of this application does not guarantee you a spot. The MESA Leadership Summit is limited to ~10 students per campus. Applications will be reviewed by MESA Directors and Advisors. Students will be notified of selection via e-mail. Once selected, students will need to complete the Gallup Organization’s online Strengths Quest test prior to attending to determine their top strengths. These top strengths will be utilized throughout the Leadership Summit.


  • Must be a current student in the MESA program.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be available February 27 – March 1, 2014 (Friday-Sunday).
  • Must not have attended a prior Leadership Summit.

Note that the camp site has ‘little to no’ phone and Wi-Fi reception and that there is no guarantee for free-time towards studying and/or homework. Travel to the camp site will be provided by MESA staff.

Selected students will be notified beginning Monday, February 9, 2015.

Application opens Monday, December 1, 2014 and closes Friday, January 30, 2015.
