7th Grade Visit to SDSU

The MESA Program not only works with high school and college students; they also work with an even younger audience. What better way than portraying the exciting fields of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) than to hold events where budding students are able to learn different concepts through fun activities?

An example of such is incorporated with the “7th Grade Visits” to San Diego State University as part of Compact for Success Annual 7th Grade Visit to SDSU on October 24, 2015. Students attending this specific event were able to experience “being an engineer for a day”. For this fall visit, the students were able to construct makeshift paper straw rockets which conveyed the basic principles of both physics tied together with aerospace engineering. Not only did the students learn a lot, they had a great time doing so.
