American Chemical Society International Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program (ACS-IREU) for students majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation, in partnership with the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD), the German Chemical Society (GDCh), the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN), and several universities across Europe.

The California Space Grant Consortium is pleased to announce its new statewide program: the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP).

The MSRP, an institutional effort that began in 1986, facilitates the involvement of talented students in research aspects of the fields of engineering and science-particularly those who are underrepresented in these fields. This summer program seeks to identify talented sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors from around the country who could benefit from
spending a summer on MIT’s campus, working in a research laboratory under the tutelage and guidance of experienced scientists and engineers. The program features supervision by an MIT faculty member and postdoctoral fellow or advanced graduate student; weekly seminars/workshops; preparation and delivery of a research poster and paper; individual counseling on academic careers; hands-on training in active, “real-world” laboratories; and participation in social and cultural activities in the area.

Interdisciplinary REU Program in the Structure and Function of Proteins at the University of Michigan The Interdisciplinary REU program will provide undergraduate students with a 10-week summer research experience in the areas of biochemistry, biophysics, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, enzymology, marine biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences and plant biology. The research projects featured in this program all involve studies of the structure and function of proteins.

The UCSD Hughes Scholars Community College Student Summer Research Program Program Duration: 21 June to 27 August 2010 Program Stipend: $2,000 (includes free GRE Prep course) Full-time, paid summer research experience working under a Faculty-Mentor in a UCSD academic lab or in local biotech firms.

The Office of the Dean for Graduate Education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will host its annual MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP) from June 6 – August 7, 2010.

The MSRP, an institutional effort that began in 1986, facilitates the involvement of talented students in research aspects of the fields of engineering and science—particularly those who are underrepresented in these fields.

The Pasteur Institute in Paris, France is sponsoring a summer research experience for Undergraduate Students.The applicant must be a matriculated (not yet graduated) undergraduate student with a strong academic record. Prior research experience and some knowledge of French is a plus. Applications are due this fall for Summer 2010.
