PBS&J Minority Engineering Scholarship Program

Deadline extended:  Monday June 14, 2010 by 2:00 pm.

The PBSJ Minority Engineering Scholarship Program assists students of African American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan or Hispanic decent in completing their higher education in civil and environmental engineering programs.

Upon meeting the program criteria, (SDSU MEP/MSP students) scholarship recipients are selected through a competitive process—only one student from each university can be awarded the scholarship each year. A local selection committee, composed of PBSJ technical management and human resources personnel, chooses the recipient.

Half of the $4,000 scholarship is awarded for tuition during the fall semester and the remaining half for the spring semester. All scholarship funds are paid directly toward the student’s tuition.
Scholarship recipients may also be offered summer internships or full-time work upon graduation.

PBSJ is very excited to have the opportunity to provide this scholarship. We hope that many of your students will also be excited about this opportunity and that they will submit their application for consideration.
See attached brochure for more information. The application is also attached. Submit your complete application along with all supporting material to Theresa M. Garcia by June 7th, 2010. My office is in SDSU Engineering Building, room 208a. I will forward all qualified and complete applications I receive to PBS&J on June 10, 2010.
