The Position
Responsible for providing technical oversight for Genentech’s Oceanside Manufacturing facility to ensure the proper operation of the automated process control systems, MES, and data historians to include system hardware and software.
• Works with management to define appropriate standards, policies, procedures, software toolsets, and supporting peripherals to facilitate the management, accountability and functionality of system/databases and applications
• Contribute to development of system/architecture roadmaps to meet business requirements and implement enhancements in support realization of the roadmap
• Execute system/database administration, capacity planning, design, installation, and configuration
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with current SOP and department procedures
• Execute data management and disaster recovery procedures for system/database
• Operate and execute change control process for deployment of system/database software across GMP validated and Non-GMP environments
• Execute system/database log review and maintenance
• Execute system/database performance tuning and optimization, job verification and scheduling
• Execute system/database user account management
• Develop and maintain GMP/Non-GMP documentation and diagrams
• Execute testing and installation of system/database patches, upgrades, and new releases
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with the system/databases and applications

Who you are
• B.S orM.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree and 2 years experience
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience as a system/database (Microsoft Operating System & SQL) administrator
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, SQL, and development tools
• Experience with SQL procedures and functions, and performance tuning and enhancement of SQL
• Experience with security/vulnerability management of operating system and application
• Experience with network services and protocols (NETBIOS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, SMTP, TCP/IP, HTTP)
• Proficiency in LAN/WAN/Wireless networking
• Experience with administration of OSI
• PI Experience withVisual Basic scripting and programming a plus
