Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) in Germany

RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate student from the United States, Canada and the UK in the biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering.
RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor degree seeking students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of two to three months during the summer.
RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English.

Indoor Lighting Design and Compliance for Title 24 Standards & Envelope Title 24 compliance

Martyn Dodd of EnergySoft will present the latest information on complying with the Nonresidential Title 24 Standards as it relates to indoor lighting. Mr. Dodd will cover basic mandatory measures, as well as all of the new mandatory items that have been added into the code, including daylighting and demand responsive lighting controls.

Comprehensive Energy Strategies

California’s Energy Action Plan clearly states the priorities of the loading order – energy efficiency and demand response. Further, the policy vision is that “energy efficiency, energy conservation, demand response, advanced metering, and distributed generation technologies are offered as elements of an integrated solution that supports energy and carbon reduction goals immediately…” This seminar focuses on how an integrated systems approach incorporating enabling technologies optimizes energy efficiency and demand management. Examples of how systems are relevant to each other in achieving energy efficiency and demand management will be shared.
