2016 MESA Leadership Summit Application

The 15th Annual MESA Leadership Summit will take place at the Indian Hills Camp in Jamul on the weekend of February 26 – 28, 2016 (Friday-Sunday).

MESA students from San Diego State University, San Diego City College, Southwestern College, and high schools in the MESA Schools Program (San Diego and Imperial Valley) will participate in various seminars and competitions that will promote the use of their leadership skills and various strengths attributes.

Your completion of this application does not guarantee you a spot. The Leadership Summit is limited to ~10 students per MESA program. Applications will be reviewed by MESA Directors and Advisors. Students will be notified of selection by e-mail. Once selected, students will need to complete the Gallup Organization’s online Strengths Quest test prior to attending to determine their top strengths. These top strengths will be utilized throughout the Leadership Summit.

Requirements:
– Must be a current student in MESA program.
– Must be in good academic standing.
– Must be available Friday, February 26-Sunday, February 28, 2016.
– Must not have attended a prior Leadership Summit.

Note that the camp site has ‘little to no’ cellular and wi-fi reception and that there is no guarantee for free-time towards studying and/or homework; though evening times are generally when students do their studying. Travel to the camp site will be provided by MESA staff.

Application deadline is Sunday, February 7, 2016. Selected students will be notified beginning Monday, February 8, 2016.
