San Diego MESA Alliance awarded $3,500 as part of SDG&E’s Energy Solutions Partners Network

The San Diego Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) Alliance has been awarded $3,500 from San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) as part of their Energy Solutions Partners Network. The partnership entails providing important energy-savings messages as well as to help promote solutions – programs, services and tools – to some of the county’s most diverse, and often times, hard to reach households and businesses.

Middle school students use math, science knowledge to build cardboard boats

Armed with only cardboard, sealant and duck tape, middle school students throughout the Imperial Valley managed to construct boats fit for two students for the MESA Cardboard Boat Competition.

The inaugural event saw a total of 33 boats from eight different Mathematics Science Engineering Advancement middle school programs test the water and the wind at the Central Union High School pool here Thursday.
