MESA/Pratt & Whitney Training Academy

The purpose of the training academy was to expose a diverse group of college level students in the Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) programs at San Diego State University, San Diego City College, and Southwestern College to Pratt & Whitney, its’ business development, and the concept of ACE/Lean Six Sigma.

A total of 19 MESA students attended the Training Academy: 10 students from San Diego State University, 4 students from San Diego City College, and 5 students from Southwestern College.

San Diego STEM Summit – Call for Volunteers

The San Diego STEM Collaboratory, a network of regional partners whose mission it is to
prepare California’s most STEM-capable graduates, in partnership with the San Diego Science
Alliance (SDSA) is hosting the inaugural San Diego STEM Summit: Transforming Ideas into
Action on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Grossmont College – Griffin Gate. The 2013 Summit will
bring together more than 150 leaders working in PK-12 and higher education, business and
industry, policy, philanthropy, NGOs and governmental agencies to share and scale existing
partnerships and programs championing STEM Education.
