Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Research Experience

California Current Ecosystem (CCE) – Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) seek 3-5 undergraduate students to participate in interdisciplinary oceanographic research as part of the NSF-funded California Current Ecosystem (CCE) Long Term Ecological Research LTER site.

The CCE LTER site is an interdisciplinary group of scientists, students and educators working to understand and communicate the effects of long term climate variability on the California Current pelagic ecosystem, a major coastal upwelling biome (see http://cce.lternet.edu/ for more information).

Structure and Function of Proteins Research

The Interdisciplinary REU Program in the Structure and Function of Proteins will provide undergraduate students with a 10-week research experience in the areas of biochemistry, biophysics, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, enzymology, marine biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences and plant biology.

Representatives from Infrastructure Engineering Corporation, the Navy, Northrop Grumman, and Solar Turbines also hosted appointments for one-on-one mock interviews, resume critiques, and cover letter critiques.
