Scholarship opportunities.

Kelly Future Engineers Scholarship Program

One winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship to be used toward eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board during the 2012 calendar year.

The winner will be invited to visit a local Kelly Services branch and will be presented with a check payable to his or her current institution. The winner will also receive a commemorative plaque. The winner will be announced and a news release will be distributed to national media, local media in the winner’s hometown, and the winner’s university paper.

HSF/Marathon Oil Corp Scholarship & Internship Program

The HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation College Scholarship Program is a scholarship of up to $15,000 per year. Selected students may receive up to $15,000 for two academic years for a possible total award of $30,000.

In addition, scholars will be offered the opportunity to participate in a possible paid 8-10 week summer internship at various Marathon Oil Corporation locations. Scholars will also be paired with a Marathon Oil Corporation employee who will serve as a professional mentor.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarships

HSF/ General College Scholarships are designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage obtain a college degree. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to:
• Graduating High School Seniors
• Community College Students
• Community College Transfer Students
• Undergraduate Students
• Graduate Students
Award amounts generally range from $1,000 to $5,000.

S-STEM Scholarship Program

This National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded scholarship program, referred to by the acronym S-STEM (for scholarships in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), will provide yearly scholarships of $5,000 for juniors entering the program and $6,000 for seniors returning to the program for their second year.

2010-2011 NSF Scholarships

78 students across the 3 participating campuses of the San Diego MESA Alliance (San Diego State University MESA Engineering Program, San Diego City College MESA program, and Southwestern Community College MESA program) were given a $500 stipend for participation in SPSD activities.

$39,000 in NSF scholarships distributed directly to students significantly decreased financial burden on students and their families.

GEM Fellowship

GEM’s fellowship programs span the entire recruitment, retention, and professional development spectrum. GEM’s principal activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and Ph.D. levels coupled with paid summer internships. GEM also offers informational sessions on the importance of graduate school and tools for access and successful matriculation. GEM also produces publications for graduate and undergraduate students, unviersity and industry administrators to assist in the education process of how to obtain a graduate STEM education. GEM is devoted to increasing access and success in engineering and science graduate education and practice.
