NASA is more than astronauts. We are scientists, engineers, computer programmers, personnel specialists, accountants, writers, maintenance workers, and much much more. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is the home to the nation’s largest organization of combined scientists, engineers and technologists who build spacecraft, instruments and new technology to study the Earth, the Sun, our Solar System, and the Universe. From high school interns to accomplished Nobel Prize winners, each member of the Goddard team plays a vital role in mission success.

If you are interested in teaching, we have an opportunity for you!. Work with SPAWAR in developing projects and teaching kids K-12 science and engineering concepts.

This is a summer internship with flexible hours.

Students in MESA/NSF/SPSD/MEP/MSP are eligible for an NSF Stipend of $1,250 for 100 hours of work. All other interested students may volunteer without pay to do this.

SRAs independently manage an assigned local territory of high schools, representing SDSU by providing presentations and information to students, counselors and parents. They prepare and arrange their own presentations, appointments and meetings. Additional duties include assisting in the office and preparing for admission events, such as Explore SDSU and a CSU Counselor Conference. Each SRA walks away with a whole new world of transferable skills under their belt at the end of the year.

Qualified applicants will be brought onto active duty status and while finishing their degree they will receive a salary, housing allowance, food monies, free medical/dental benefits and are issued an active duty military ID card which will allow access to military installations (shopping, gas, groceries, gym, etc). (If the applicant is married, their spouse/children will also receive these benefits too.) And once they have graduated with their degree they will be scheduled to attend the AF Basic Officer Training School and at graduation become a commissioned officer!

California Space Grant Consortium Exploration Internships for summer 2010. Two California students will be selected for $5,000 internships to work at Boeing–JSC this summer.

Northrop Grumman representatives Desiree Galenti and Beilee Tracey facilitated a presentation on ‘Interviewing for a Job’ on Monday, March 15, 2010 at San Diego State University Career Services from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.

Representatives from Infrastructure Engineering Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and San Diego Gas & Electric/Sempra Energy also hosted appointments for one-on-one mock interviews (at 30 minutes), and resume critiques/cover letter critiques (at 30 minutes).

Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders in the sciences. As such, Pfizer is offering student employment opportunities with the goal of preparing students for careers in the pharmaceutical industry. The last date for students to apply is March 19.

These summer research opportunities are fully-funded and are an excellent way to gain a competitive edge toward graduate school.
