National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Hiring Event

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is a Department of Defense combat support agency and a member of the national Intelligence Community (IC). NGA develops imagery and map-based intelligence solutions for U.S. national defense, homeland security and safety of navigation. NGA provides timely, relevant and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives. The term “geospatial intelligence” means the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess and visually depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth. Geospatial intelligence consists of imagery, imagery intelligence and geospatial (e.g., mapping, charting and geodesy) information.

Howell-CSUPERB Research Scholar Program Award

Please note the request for applications for the 2011 Howell-CSUPERB Research Scholar Program Award. This program can provide $3K for an undergraduate student doing a research project in any biotechnology related discipline. The proposal is relatively simple, and the award provides support for a promising research student, a nice addition to a student’s CV, and a benefit to the sponsoring laboratory.

REACH recruitment event for prospective Ph.D. students

REACH brings to the campus talented students from all over the U.S. who plan on, or are seriously considering, pursuing a Ph.D. in an engineering field. This event is particularly geared toward students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in the field of engineering: African-American, Latino and Native American. Travel expenses, hotels and meals are all paid for by the USC Viterbi School.

The Opportunities in Engineering Conference

The College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Madison is hosting a three-day graduate recruitment event known as “The Opportunities in Engineering Conference,” scheduled for November 4 through November 6, 2010. The conference gives selected students an opportunity to hear faculty research presentations, tour laboratories, meet with current graduate students and individually with faculty in the students area of interest, and tour the city of Madison as well as the UW campus. All expenses including travel, housing, and food are paid in full by the College of Engineering (with the exception of food for Saturday and Sunday).
