fqubed Hiring

fqubed, Inc. uses proprietary high throughput experimentation (“HTE”) and conventional
platforms to screen how large libraries of formulations affect various properties of skin,
such as permeability and drug permeation. Founded in 2002, fqubed has been a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Nuvo Research Inc. (www.nuvoresearch.com) since 2005.
As Nuvo’s research and early development arm, fqubed is applied to the development
of innovative drug products capable of delivering the drug into or through the skin, with
a primary emphasis on the treatment of various pain and dermatological indications.
fqubed has also completed successful screening programs for Global 500 companies
pursuing medical device and personal care product research. fqubed, Inc. is based in
San Diego, CA.

EYH Conference

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) provides hands-on/minds-on exploration in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for 6th – 10th grade girls. Our mission is to encourage young women to pursue careers in these fields by offering interactive workshops from Architecture to Zoology. Girls from all over San Diego County will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in various areas, talk with others who share similar interests, and have women college students (you!) studying science and technology as mentors for an entire day. This year’s theme is “Sustain your Future”. Please Note: All mentors are required to attend one of three training sessions prior to the Conference which will be held Sat. 2/27 (10-11am), Mon. 3/1 (7-8pm) and Thurs. 3/4 (7-8pm) on the University of San Diego campus. Application deadline is Wednesday, March 3, 2010 so sign up today!

San Diego State University wants YOU!….to be in their next commercial.

SDSU has hired a production company to film a new commercial that will air on national TV, including ESPN! The theme of the commercial is “Aztec for Life” and the storyline centers around the Aztec Warrior growing up and growing old as an Aztec!

NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowships

This call for graduate fellowship proposals, entitled NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowship Program — 2010/2011 Academic Year, solicits applications from accredited U.S. universities on behalf of individuals pursuing master’s or doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees in Earth and space sciences, or related disciplines. The purpose of NESSF is to ensure continued training of a highly qualified workforce in disciplines needed to achieve NASA’s scientific goals. Awards resulting from the competitive selection will be training grants to the respective universities, with the advisor serving as the principal investigator. The financial support for the NESSF program comes from the Science Mission Directorate’s four science divisions: Earth Science, Heliophysics, Planetary Science and Astrophysics.
