SDG&E Civic Leadership Mentors Selected

Congratulations to the following students for having been selected as mentors for the SDG&E/MESA Civic Leadership Program!

These mentors will commit 75 hours through Spring 2013, for which they will receive a stipend of $825. This is a great opportunity for these students to serve as peer mentors for high school and middle school students in the MESA Schools Programs (MSP) in San Diego and Imperial Valley. The focus of the mentoring will be on college preparation and leadership development.

Save the Environment: Earn a Scholarship

Apply now for a term of service with CALPIRG and Americorps to reduce energy use, protect the environment, and save Californians money.

We currently waste more energy than we use. CALPIRG’s Energy Service Corps is working towards ending our energy crisis by increasing efficiency across California through education and service.

This year alone we will be educating over 30,000 kids about energy efficiency and knocking on 7,500 doors to give residents tips to reduce their energy use and save money right away.

Undergraduate Summer Research – Texas A&M Engineering

The Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites students from your program to apply for the 2013 Undergraduate Summer Research Grant (USRG) Program. During this summer research experience, participants work closely with faculty members on current or individual research projects, attend development and GRE workshops, make a formal poster presentation of their research experience, and submit a final written report describing the results of their research.

University of Pittsburgh MIDAS Summer Undergraduate Research

The University of Pittsburgh Models of Infectious Disease Agent Study (MIDAS) National Center of Excellence is pleased to announce a summer research opportunity for undergraduate students in the field of computational modeling and simulation of infectious diseases. Through this ten-week Summer Research Program, participants will gain an appreciation of major research questions being raised at the intersection of public health, biological science, and computer technology and become acclimated to the rigors of scientific research and graduate education. Women and underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
